The Tropical Storm is a unique and possibly the BEST all
composite 'Plank' style Micro slope flying wing. It is a small yet exciting to
fly slope aircraft that is highly maneuverable, and will fly in super
light lift conditions as well as hi-wind conditions.
The Tropical Storm has no bad handling characteristics
when trimmed properly. Fast in light wind and a real screamer
in heavy wind, this little bird will keep you on your toes. Even
though it is small, it has a BIG attitude!
Even with only a 7-10 ounce all up weight, the Tropical Storm
flies like a MUCH larger sloper. Energy retention is unreal, and the
ability to fly in both super light winds (less than 5mph) to HUGE winds of
40+mph with no addition of weight/ballast proves the pure efficiency of the design.
Posted on this page as well as the video page is a
video of a 6.9-ounce Tropical Storm flying in gusty 40+mph winds!
The fuselage is molded fiberglass and the wing is carbon
fiber and Kevlar and Fiberglass construction. This combo is VERY
tough and light at the same time. Control surfaces are 'Live-Hinged'
via the Kevlar.
This is not a 'kit'. It is a true ARF. Drop in your servos,
receiver and battery, adjust the CG, program your radio and fly!
Typical assembly times are less than an hour.
The Tropical Storm is the
perfect micro racing plane for club and sport F3F and MoM racing for a
small, VERY fast and extremely tough composite plane.
Keep an eye on these things, they tend to develop into
much larger storms known as Hurricanes! Coming soon...VERY SOON!!!
